It is not enough that Africa is adopting technology in its various social economic activities. While it is commendable citizens can get government services at the tap on their smartphone. Talk to family and friends in far off place like they are right next to them (global village). Take classes and do businesses online.

Africa now needs to move away from just being a consumer of tech solutions to becoming a creator of those solutions. Then, and only then will the continent have tech-driven solutions tailor-made to their needs; and not this one-size-fits-all approach with an imported tech solution.

The first step towards self-sufficiency as a continent and possible exporter of tech solutions start with arming today’s kids with the crucial 21st-century tools; digital literacy. And coding is the very fabric of tech solutions production.

9jacodekids Academy is on that frontline towards that goal in Nigeria. They strongly believe that coding should be a basic skill in today’s African school curriculum.
