Search engine giant Google is set to hold the Google Hash Code for 2017 across different cities in Africa. Google Hash Code is a team-based programming competition where Google engineers present programming challenges to the participants and the team with the top score wins the prize. The competition will be taking place at the Johannesburg-based tech hub nHub in South Africa and the Lagos-based co-working space V8 among other locations.
This competition will take place in two rounds; online and final. The online leg of the competition will see the teams presented with real-life challenges requiring them to come up with solutions to address those challenges. The teams will have to come up with solutions to their challenges using only their PCs, a programming language, and a tool of their choice.
The teams that score the highest in the online leg of the competition will qualify for the final round of Google Hash Code competition that will take place in Paris, France. The second challenge will reward the winners with cool Google prizes.
