Ethiopian Airlines obtains the biggest plane in Africa, the B737 Aircraft

On Monday this week, Ethiopian Airlines announced it has acquired the B737 MAX 8 to join its fleet of aircrafts. This development makes the airline the owner of the biggest plane across Africa.

The Airline’s Group CEO, Tewolde GebreMariam, said the acquisition of the aircraft was an immense achievement for the airline, especially as they marked their 100 fleet milestones just a few days earlier.

GebreMariam reiterated that the B737 MAX 8 acquisition was an affirmation of the Ethiopian Airline’s continuing pioneering in the African aviation space. The airline is on a fast, profitable, and sustainable growth plan, it has captured as its Vision 2025.

Today, we are glad to include the B737 MAX 8, the latest in Boeing’s single-aisle series, in our young and modern fleet family with an average age of less than five years.
