At the end of January, Apple did a Swope across its App Store and discovered that social media giant Facebook has been stealthily breaking the rules and regulations for the store. It would appear engineers at Facebook went far too quickly, that safeguards put in place by Apple are just catching up to its mischief.
The news was first broken by TechCrunch who reported that Facebook has been sidestepping Apple’s rules for enterprise apps by distributing a market research app to users as young as 13-years-old.
When Apple came to this realization, it temporarily removed Facebook’s internal apps from the enterprise program on the app store. Speaking of which, Google too has had to be punished by Apple after it was also discovered to be serving sneaky apps on the App Store.
There is no denying, there is little love between Apple and Facebook. That is because the two companies monetization policy opposes each other. While Facebook is thirsty to get as much personal data on users, Apple gets paid for protecting the privacy and security of users.
