Google recently upped its streaming game by launching the YouTube Music a few weeks ago, but some would say that is not enough. Not when you compare to the user experience on other leading platforms like Sound Cloud and Spotify among others.

The fact is, to enjoy YouTube Music, you still have to go through your browser, which might not be as appealing for some compared to launching a desktop client handle that work. Luckily, there is always a third-party solution to such problem, and in this case, Developer Samuel Attard has released the unofficial desktop application for Google Play Music called the Google Play Music Desktop Player. Aaargh, good news, this application is open source!

The app can boast of over 3 million downloads thus far. It has been evolving alongside Google Play Music over the year, and now that Google has shifted gears, the app has had to release a new update.
