In June this year, Huawei published reports claiming it outsold Apple’s iDevices, and if you are familiar with the iPhone and iPads, you know they don’t come cheaply. Huawei is actually beating Apple in its home turf; the high-end market, so much so that the company has decided to discontinue production of low end and entry level devices and concentrate on the high-end market.
Gone are the days when Huawei was synonymous for cheap devices with low quality. Indeed, Huawei products of nowadays pack stellar features and specs to rival that of tech giants like Apple and Samsung. Richard Yu, the CEO of Consumer Business Group at Huawei back in July made the announcement that the company has resolved to stop further production of entry-level devices. Reason being; “the margin in this is extremely low.”
