KaaRada A New App Developed To Boost Community Policing In Kenya
Following acts of terrorism that have been witnessed in Kenya, with the most recent and the worst terror attack being the killing of 148 students at the Garissa University. Techies from Nailab, dubbed Makeshift have launched a new app geared towards improving community policing.
The app works much like any other crowdsourcing platform where members of the public can post texts, pictures and videos of any suspicious activities taking place in their neighborhood. The term KaaRada has been coined from the ‘Sheng’ language meaning ‘stay alert’.
