Microsoft Imagine Cup Finals; Teams from Nigeria, South Africa, and Tunisia make the cut

For the final rounds of Imagine Cup, Microsoft global student tech competition, teams from Nigeria, South Africa, and Tunisia will be representing Africa. The competition will also serve as a platform to highlight technological development springing up from Africa. It will go a long way to show the continent as not just as a consumer, but also a producer of tech development.

Digital Interactive Games

This team is from South Africa. This team will be pitching their 3D video game about Dragon and Sheep. Players are supposed to save as many sheep as possible from being devoured by the dragons.

The Humane Team

This team of four undergrad students from the Obafemi Awolowo University’s Department of Electronics and Electrical Engineering developed a system that allows visually impaired people use smartphones. Enabling them to surf the internet, dial up their friends and families, curate and read text messages, play music, and interact better with the Windows Phone smartphone offerings.

The Night’s Watch

A team of four innovators from Tunisia that got their inspiration to develop Smart Hand from the suffering their colleagues with amputated limbs suffered. …read more
