OjaExpress Expands Access To Ethnic Groceries In The U.S. Through An On-Demand Delivery App

On a mission to expand access to ethnic cultures and traditions, Chicago based startup, OjaExpress, released a beta version of its mobile application on November 9th, 2015. The application, sharing the same name as the company, can be used to order ethnic groceries for same day delivery to all home types, diasporic and interested parties alike.

“There are only few grocery stores that cater to the cultural demands of the plethora of ethnicities residing in Chicago. This problem exists in other major U.S. cities,” said Boyede Sobitan, CEO and co-founder of OjaExpress. In addressing solutions to the issue, he added, “Our mission is simple; OjaExpress wants to eliminate all possible barriers in obtaining ethnic grocery items starting with African and Caribbean groceries.”

OjaExpress currently operates in Chicago, and aims for national expansion in the upcoming years. CTO and co-founder, Fola Dada issued, “The reception has been phenomenal and has motivated us to initiate the first steps towards our expansion plan. Among other things, this plan includes our upcoming official app launch happening in April, 2016.”
