Castile with his girlfriend Lavish Reynolds were pulled over for a broken tail light in the suburb of St. Paul, Minn. According to Reynolds account of the incident, when they were stopped, the officer asked Castile for his driver’s license and registration. When he went to reach for the papers, the police shot him four times in the arm. Castile had informed the police earlier that he was a registered gun owner.
The aftermath of the shooting was streamed live on Facebook by Reynolds. The video is said to have mysteriously disappeared from her Facebook page.
