South Africa will play host to the Second Summit of the China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) set to be held in Johannesburg this coming December. FOCAC was formerly incepted back in 2006, and will the first FOCAC summit to be held in Africa.
African Heads of State/Government, African Union (AU) leaders, and Heads of Regional and Multilateral organization are set to attend the Summit in Johannesburg, South Africa.
South Africa’s International Relations and Cooperation Minister, Maite Nkoana-Mashabane in a statement said, “As co-chair of FOCAC for the period 2012-2018, South Africa looks forward to hosting this historic event.”
The D-Day for the summit will be December 4-5, but will be preceded by another meeting on Dec-2 where senior officials will hold a meeting and another one on Dec. 3 for another Sixth Ministerial Meeting.
The Government of South Africa will be working closely with the People Republic of China, the groups of African Ambassadors in Beijing and Addis Ababa including the AU Commission to prepare for the December 2015 FOCAC Summit.
