South Africans to benefit from Cisco’s new 7 Free Online Courses imparting Digital Skills

Cisco has an ambitious plan of equipping some 100,000 students in South Africa with relevant and most recent digital skills by the year 2020. In celebration of the Cisco Networking Academy 20th anniversary in South Africa, which took place in October, the company has launched a new free seven online courses.

The seven online courses are self-enrolment program tailored to equip South Africans with relevant digital skills. Cisco will be partnering with other stakeholders to ensure the outreach of the program is as wide as possible. Some of the stakeholders of Cisco’s potential partners in this program include formal education centers like schools, colleges, TVETs, and universities. The company will also solicit the help of unconventional stakeholders like prisons, homeless shelters, local communities, industries and schools for the blind.

The seven courses course that Cisco will be teaching through this program are as follows:

Get connected (Digital Literacy)

Entrepreneurship

Cybersecurity

Cybersecurity Essentials

Introduction to IoT

NDG Linux Unhatched

NDG Linux Essentials
