The five Tech Startups competing for the “Most Promising Company of the Year” award at tomorrow’s Africa CEO Forum

Monday, March 26 delegates from across the globe will be streaming into Abidjan for the 2018 Africa CEO Forum. An event that seeks to pay tribute to outstanding leaders, companies, and investors whose deliberate strategies and performance have had a positive impact on the socio-economic development of Africa in the past one year.

The Africa CEO forum has seven award categories including ‘Private Equity Investor of the Year’ or ‘African Company of the Year.’ This year will have a special edition ‘Most Promising Company of the Year’ award that will seek to turn the spotlight onto the startup scene on the continent.

There are five startups nominated for this award, and to win the award, each startup will have to present their product before a jury made up of specialist investors. The jury members will include investors from Omidyar Network, TLcom, and the International Finance Corporation (IFC).

These fives startups are as follows:

Omniup A Moroccan startup that strives to provide free public Wi-Fi provided the user watches an advertisement to the end.
InTouch A Senegalese startup that has developed a mobile money platform
