These 5 Kenyan startups picked for the iHub Fellowship Accelerator

Kenya-based iHub Fellowship accelerator, a program geared towards enabling budding entrepreneurs to reach their full business potential through tailor-made training to instill business acumen and technical skills, has picked its next cohort of five of startups.

The application to the program started in December last year, an exercise that saw over 180 startups submit their application. The over 180 applicants were sieved down to just top five most promising startups. These five startups will now proceed to the Traction Camp, an acceleration program run by iHub in partnership with the World Bank.

The five Kenyan startups include:

Majik Water – This startup has come up with an affordable solution for getting clean drinking water to communities living in water-scarce areas.

FarmIT – They provide agronomic information to farmers using SMS services. They seek to serve small-scale horticultural farmers, who lack access to the internet to get their farming insights.

M-Shule – They have come up with a mobile learning platform.

Paybobby – A back office management solution for SMEs.

SaveKubwa – It gives car owners personalized motor insurance quotes within less than three minutes.
