Despite of the explosive growth in the technology, there are still some areas which seem to be the plateau in the realm of innovation. Battery life of the tech and smart devices is one such area. Companies are trying their best to pack as much battery power in small batteries as they can. No wonder Samsung messed up in this race and ended up killing its brand name. But massive researches and investment in the field of batteries are finally giving their results. Scientists have reported success in making a battery that lasts for several days, and could be charged in seconds. Experts at the University Of Central Florida (UCF) say that their newly created battery prototype works like a new battery even after being charged over 30,000 times.
This new battery technology for the smartphones is based on supercapacitors. A supercapacitor takes exceptionally less time in charging as it stores all the charges on its surface in a static fashion, and does not use chemical reactions. The supercapacitors use “two-dimensional” material sheets with large surface areas that sustain the electrons.
