The Fintech100 list is out. A list that showcased the best 100 companies in the world within the financial services space and three startups from Africa made the cut to the list.
The list is compiled through the collaboration of H2 Ventures (a fintech investment firm) and the KPMG Fintech. The list gives an in-depth view of the most exciting tech-enabled financial service startup and organization around the world.
The 2018 edition has fintech companies from across 36 countries, categorized as under ‘Top 50′ and the ‘Emerging 50′. Though all of the three African fintech companies fall under the ‘Emerging 50′ category. They are as follows:
Cellulant: This Kenyan fintech company made the cut as a one-stop payment platform that connects businesses and government to the increasing population of mobile devices consumers. Cellulant has a presence across 11 countries.
ThisIsMe: This South African company, said to bring trust into transactions using a proprietary, true identification technology also made the cut.
