Founded back in 2012, Uganda’s Outbox Innovation Hub has been championing the development of technology entrepreneurship in Uganda. The hub is trying to bridge the gap between the demand for skilled software engineers, with the supply of talented engineers. It does so through partnerships, and innovative programs have seen startups benefit from business training, mentorship opportunities, technical guidance, and seed funding.
Outbox has inked a partnership with Kenya’s Moringa School that will see the two host a series of coding boot camps geared towards imparting industry relevant software engineering skills to the youths.
A boot camp will entail a short yet intensive technical training session, where the participants will be taught computer programming skills that are most relevant to the current industry. The two organization promise the boot camp will equip the participants with skills that are currently on most demand from the employers.
The boot came series dubbed, Outbox EDU, will see Outbox provide Moringa School’s technology training course a five-week full-time computer science fundamentals course referred to as the ‘Moringa Prep’ this June.
