Video Calls Now Available On Facebook’s Messenger
Apple has its Facetime, Google has its Hangout, and Microsoft has its Skype. These are all applications that allow users to make video calls to each other and make ‘face-to-face’ real-time video calls from their mobile devices. However, on Facebook, the best experience towards real-time communication via a mobile app has been via the standalone Messenger app. In the form of real-time exchange of text messages, pictures and videos. Up to until recently, users were not able to make real-time video messages.
The social network giant, yesterday announced in a blog post that it is enabling video chat for its Messenger app on both Android and iOS platform.
“Video calling in Messenger is available for call made from a mobile phone to another mobile phone, even if one person is on iOS and the other person in on an Android device,” read a statement made by Facebook.
