The hackathon theme, Project Humanity, will put more emphasize on how girls can create positive changes in the world focusing on the ecosystem, earth and social justices themes. The team will also be engaged in building apps and solutions to address challenges in these spaces.

“Project Humanity” is about creating a good and safe environment for both humans and the earth. Our theme broadens the definition of environment to not just include the earth (water, plants, animals, etc.), but also the environments that we (humans) live in.

In New York, we will hold our hackathon at NYU Polytechnic School of Engineering, July 24 – 26th. Read more event details here:

MENTORS – We are in need of mentors who are motivated to create an impact while helping girls develop their mobile app ideas:

Mentor Developer – We’re looking for developer volunteers with mobile or front-end experience to help student teams build apps within a web-based tool during the hackathon. Your role will be part leader, part expert and part mad scientist to help the students articulate and scope their ideas into an app. We …read more
