5-day Coding Workshop for Youths in Abuja, Nigeria

Working to advance STEM education for African Women (WAAW) foundation is organizing an immersive coding workshop for those interested in computer programming.

Whether you are a beginner who wants to get started in web development, a designer looking to hand-code their concepts, or a journalist who wants to start building a portfolio to showcase your work, this one-week Coding workshop is for you!

The overall goal of the coding workshop is to improve Nigerian youth’s potential for digital entrepreneurial activity on the internet using digital skills, increase their employability skills and help them find a job in technology space with lucrative incomes.

The intensive training is open to undergraduates and graduates. “We are encouraging more female participants but our Abuja training program is open to both male and female”, said Mrs. Ebele Agu, WAAW’s Vice president.

In this hands-on training workshop, participants will learn Web development including HTML, CSS & JavaScript, Mobile development for Android using MIT App Inventor and be introduced to Arduino programming.
