Zimbabweans livings in the diaspora now have an official channel from their government to get information about the development happening back in their country. This development comes after Zimbabwe through the Ministry of Macro-Economic Planning and Investment Promotion put up a national diaspora website aimed at facilitating the participation and engagement of Zimbabweans living outside the country.
The Ministry wants the citizens living in the diaspora to aware about the national development, and see what part they can get involved. The Ministry put out a statement that in part read:
“The purpose of the website is to promote diaspora engagement and participation of the Zimbabwean Diaspora in national development. Among others, the website will showcase the opportunities in different sectors of the economy.”
Last year, the country’s Cabinet approved the Zimbabwe National Diaspora Policy (ZNDP), a program aimed at harnessing the social and intellectual human capital living outside Zimbabwe for national development.
The site will be filled with relevant information pertaining matters rising opportunities within Zimbabwe that the diaspora might want to take part in.
